This pen is fantastic, the size is great, the connection between the light and pen is interesting and the extra end caps are a huge addition both if you want to carry the light and pen separately and if you want to connect the ends to one another and use them as a magnetic quick release keychain accessory. But there is some room for improvement. The bolt action isn't quite as smooth as the EP1 and its taking me some time to get used to just where to twist when I want to turn the light on and off. There are a lot of potential twisting places. Maybe a big of blue loctite on the parts threads shouldn't turn and a bit of oil on the threads that should turn would make this easier for me.

I love my EP1 and this is a positive review of the the company itself. The P1 has some incredible features, I like the pen diameter, the light is perfect brightness for a pen light and the extra goodies that come with it. I ended up returning it over the light not staying connected to the pen, and having to loosen the lens cap to turn the light off so far it felt like it would fall off. Refyne was great about the return and excellent customer service. When they make an upgraded model I will most definitely get it!

It’s pretty good. I wished the bolt tab didn’t come lose when I activate it. It keeps me from playing with it until I can get some lock-tite on there. Also, I wish you’d have a better system in place for the connection of light to pen. It’s the weak link and always the first part to twist open when trying to activate the light. Should have used a bolt action to connect there so it requires a push and twist to disengage.
